Job Title: Marketing Manager – Social Web Applications
Description: The Marketing Manger is a key position (newly created) to help the company achieve its goals of building a deep, engaged user base across numerous products and channels.
We build people profiling and discovery applications that enable users to learn more about themselves, connect with friends and discover new content and services. We have launched several applications on various social networks and are looking to increase our user base and engagement dramatically. We are looking for people with unique skills and a desire to join a fast-growing startup in an exciting area.
Join our VP Marketing in building the Signal Patterns marketing team. We’re responsible for promoting the company, acquiring new Signal Patterns users, and encouraging them to use and share the company’s sites and channels with their friends.
Location: Pleasantville, NY (Westchester, steps from Metro-North)
Reports to: VP, Marketing
Responsibilities
• Generate user base via compelling customer acquisition programs including:
> Online marketing
**** Improve search engine optimization
**** Manage/optimize Google AdWords and other paid search campaigns
**** Manage/optimize online display campaigns
**** Investigate, develop and execute user acquisition campaigns across additional relevant marketing channels
> Market outreach
**** Identify bloggers, relevant sites to promote company channels
**** Maintain activity on company blog
> Social marketing / WOM
**** Identify social network groups to promote company channels
**** Engage users across multiple channels to promote engagement
**** Create and implement viral marketing campaigns
• Monitor and analyze web analytics and make recommendations to improve site metrics
• Manage marketing budgets, analyze marketing channel ROI
• Manage vendor relations
• Manage customer support
> Monitor/track user feedback and resolve user issues
> Serve as external-facing company representative (”community liaison”) to users
• Public relations
> Assist PR firm as necessary to increase company/channel awareness
• Support business development partnerships as required
• Assist in providing consumer-centric view to product development efforts
Ideal Candidate’s Skills
• 3 - 5 years experience, ideally related to building traffic on a consumer-facing website
• Proven success in developing, managing and executing marketing programs to drive user acquisition and engagement
• Deep understanding of (and lives) social networking and social networks, and web 2.0 technologies
• Experience successfully creating, managing and measuring paid search, display, email and viral user acquisition campaigns.
* Experience with online display advertising, banner advertising, affiliate marketing, web analytics and conversion metrics (CPM, CTR, CPC, CPL, CPA) a plus.
• Excellent writing skills, especially writing for online communications
• Ability to work independently, juggle multiple projects with varying deadlines, rapidly take-on new responsibilities and wear many hats in a fast paced environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Bachelor’s degree required, Masters degree a plus
