Adidas Originals throw 60th Birthday House Party

Adidas is turning 60 in 2009, so to celebrate they’re releasing a massive campaign to show just how cool and original they are. This is the first spot, created by Sid Lee of Montréal, that makes us wish we could throw mad house parties and wear 3 stripes exclusively for the rest of our lives… or that’s how it makes me feel. They’ve even invited all the big names who they say helped make their brand what it is today. “It’s the house party to end all house partys — and you’re invited.”

Christina Aguilera: Better And ‘Better’

christina_aguilera

From exposing her erotic side on her 2002 “Stripped” album to emulating pinup dolls in videos like “Candy Man” and “Ain’t No Other Man” on “Back to Basics” in 2006, Christina Aguilera is all about reinventing herself.

Now, with the Nov. 11 release of “Keeps Getting Better: A Decade of Hits,” which will be sold exclusively in Target, the 27-year-old singer is reinventing some old hits.

The album includes new versions of “Genie in a Bottle” and “Beautiful,” titled “Genie 2.0″ and “You Are What You Are (Beautiful),” respectively, plus the new songs “Keeps Getting Better” and “Dynamite.” Staples such as “Dirty,” “Come on Over” and “Hurt” also appear.

Produced by longtime collaborator Linda Perry, the new and remixed tracks all feature “futuristic sounds with beats driven more toward dance music,” Aguilera says. “This time around, I’m playing with this superhero element based on the fact that fans have grown up with me since I was 17 and have continually supported my changes throughout the years.”

1111976

Carson Daly chatted with Eminem, Beyonce gave a show-stopping performance, girls shrieked at the sight of Justin Timberlake and hundreds of fans lined up outside in Times Square for a glimpse at superstars.

For few hours, it seemed like old times at MTV’s “Total Request Live” - back when the show was not only music’s most powerful force but a dominant part of pop culture. Unfortunately, it took the show’s demise to make it relevant again.

MTV pulled the plug on its most influential franchise Sunday night following years of declining ratings, but not before marking the occasion with celebration and nostalgia, as some of pop’s biggest stars paid respects to the show that helped launch their careers.

Where’s The Best Place To Legally Purchase Music?

Imagine buying your favorite musician’s latest album and escaping both obtrusive DRM and tax surcharges. Sound too good to be legally true?

Yesterday marked the launch of IMVU Music, a virtual world akin to Second Life that lets avatars discover and share their music in a social 3D environment. Here’s the carrot: Avatars can purchase DRM-free music inside IMVU Music and take it out to the real world where the digital files will be transferable to MP3 players like an iPod. Amazingly, the venture has the backing of all four major music labels and many indies.
