Facebook the movie: the cast
This is very inside baseball, but I have to share Paul Carr’s proposed cast for the Facebook movie. For those of you who care, it’s a blast.
My favourites? Ben Affleck and Matt Damon as Googlers Larry Page and Sergey Brin. Lindsay Lohan as Sarah Lacy (that puts the SXSW debacle in a whole new light). John Goodman as Mike Arrington. And Lily Tomlin as Gawker overlord Nick Denton. This is just too much fun.
Spot the difference:

Goodbye, BitTorrent. Hello, Streaming.
Comcast’s decision to cap monthy broadband usage at 250GB is being decried as the end of the Internet as we know it. Maybe so, but it can also be seen as the dawn of the Streaming Era. As the Olympics drew to a close with big numbers - 75.5 million streams (NBCOlympics.com), 40 million (BBC), another 130 million from the European Broadcasting Union, and 100 million Chinese viewers - the networks were already moving…

Californicatin’: David Duchovny enters rehab for sex addiction
The 48-year-old actor said he did so voluntarily, in a statement released Thursday by his lawyer, Stanton Stein. He added: “I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family.”
Duchovny’s publicist, Flo Grace, confirmed the report, which first appeared on the Web site People.com. She and Stein both declined further comment.
“All of us at Showtime wish David and his family the best during this very private time,” the network said in a statement.
The second season of “Californication” begins Sept. 28.
Duchovny starred as the conspiracy-minded Fox Mulder on “The X-Files” TV series and in two films. “The X-Files: I Want to Believe” opened in theaters earlier this summer.
He and his wife, actress Tea Leoni, have two children. The couple married in 1997.

Art and Life Get Blurred for Gossip Girl Fashion Designer Abigail Lorick
On September 4, former Ford model Abigail Lorick will debut her Spring ‘09 collection. Ms. Lorick’s line, Lorick New York, is the real-life fashion line behind Eleanor Waldorf’s fictitious fashion house on Gossip Girl. According to Steven Rojas, a spokesperson for Archetype Showroom (which will be producing Lorick’s New York Fashion Week show), Blake Lively, Taylor Momsen, and Leighton Meester will be in attendance. But it won’t be the first time that they’ll be seeing Ms. Lorick’s latest collection.
Reportedly, a scene for the show was filmed a few weeks ago using Ms. Lorick’s Spring ‘09 designs in Mrs. Waldorf’s fictitious Fashion Week show, an episode that will coincidentally air during New York Fashion Week–one week after Lorick’s real life runway show. (Got that?)
Designer Collections Packed Into an iPhone
STYLE.COM, the online home of Vogue, is introducing an iPhone application this week designed to enable dedicated followers of fashion to watch runway shows during New York Fashion Week next month on their phones, within hours of the last model’s exit from the catwalk. Just imagine all the editors watching the Marc Jacobs show from Monday night, Sept. 8, while sitting at the Badgley Mischka show on Tuesday morning.
